- Give an example of some kind of “new media”
The
Internet is one of the most important media in time. Mostly because the users
have the ability to be passive and more aggressive in this media. Even though
there are unlimited possibilities through this media, will it still be kind of
an authentic experience. Because, even though it’s possible to live-stream
and/or see videos from the real life (not animations) is it not possible for
the user to outlive what they see at that exact moment.
Through the
internet it is possible to make some kind of “exception” without thinking that
way. For instance a smartphone (media 1) use the internet (media 2) to search
on youtube.com (media 3), and maybe looking at movie about televisions (media
4), and in this television you’ll see an old movie (media 5), because the
television is old etc. So without realizing it, people can search (through the
internet) and by that update older media’s. Even though the internet is “an old media” it
will rebirth every single time it touch a new media, like smartphones, consoles
(Playstation, X-box and Wii), pc and other kind of tables/televisions. So this
media
- How does this media distinguish itself from the old media?
- Where on the "remedation spectrum" can you place the media?
The lack of authentic experience on the internet; Don't you think that this is possible? Not that it's possible to make it immediate in the VR-sense but maybe you would be exited, overwhelmed or drawn to the media – and thereby it could be called authentic.
